Trump's personal assistant just abruptly resigned after leaking info about the president

President Donald Trump's personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, who has been with the president since he took the oath of office, resigned on Thursday, according to The New York Times.

The 28 year-old had a good run, sitting right next to the Oval Office to greet Trump every single morning and assist him any time he needed it. She knew a lot about him.

It was reported that she shared details about the Trump family and the Oval Office operations to reporters at an off-the-record dinner near Bedminster, N.J. while he was on working vacation.

It was described as ‘abrupt and unexpected.'

It looks like his personal assistant was the one doing leaks in the administration. She's now finally leaving.

It's unclear how much leaking she was doing, but this resignation looks like it was long overdue.

Westerhout is originally from California and formerly interned for former Republican candidate Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

She then went on to work for a number of Republican campaigns before eventually taking a role with the Republican National Committee where she worked with Reince Priebus, Trump's former chief of staff. This led her to the White House for the last two and half years, where she was allowed to get close to Trump.

Trump's inner circle is even smaller now. There are currently very few people who joined him at the start of his administration still lurking around the White House, and that's going to be a problem for the president in his 2020 re-election bid. If he's going to stay sane, he's going to need people he trusts, and that number is dwindling as the months go by.
