Trump's biggest supporters turn on him for failing on wall, start GoFundMe to pay for it

President Donald Trump's biggest fans have been holding out hope until the very last minute for a "big, beautiful border wall."

They cheered when Trump said he'd be glad to shut the government down a week ago in his Oval Office while meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, telling them that it'd be worth it.

Now - with political influence hitting Trump from all angles, the White House is backpedaling from that promise, and insisting that it will have to try some other way to get funding for the wall. Still, they have not outlined exactly how they plan to do it.

And, in the meantime, Trump's biggest supporters are starting to lose faith.

Laura Ingraham just tweeted this out:

They have so little faith in President Trump's ability to deliver that they've even started a GoFundMe. It's raised $1.4 million in just a few days.

Trump's supporters genuinely believe they're going to raise over a billion dollars this way.

Here's what it stated on the GoFundMe page started by veteran Brian Kolfage:

“If the 63 million people who voted for Trump each pledge $80, we can build the wall. That equates to roughly 5 Billion Dollars, even if we get half, that's half the wall. We can do this."

It's the biggest story on social media right now. Republicans love the idea and think it's a viable solution, while Democrats can't help but remember that Trump promised to get Mexico to pay for the wall. To them it's laughable.

So - yeah - depending on who you talk to, love it or hate it.

In the meantime, it's unclear if Trump will follow through with the shutdown or not. If he does, government workers won't have paychecks this Christmas. McConnell is trying to get a temporary spending bill passed that will last until February, without wall funding.

In case Trump doesn't make it all work out and fails, his supporters are prepared to pick up the tab. We're unsure how much they'll love him when his 2020 re-election campaign kicks off, too.
