Trump thinks people with coronavirus can just go to work with no problems (VIDEO)
President Donald Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Wednesday night that going to work with coronavirus isn't that big of a deal.
What's more, Trump says he knows this due to a "hunch."
"We have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better."
However, when he was called out for this, he emphatically denied ever saying so.
"I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work. This is just more Fake News and disinformation put out by the Democrats, in particular MSDNC. Comcast covers the CoronaVirus situation horribly, only looking to do harm to the incredible & successful effort being made!"
If you watched the entire segment, Trump also referred to the coronavirus as the "Corona flu" and compared it to the "regular flu," saying he didn't know the difference between the two.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says the current death rate for the virus is 3.4 percent, but Trump thinks that's "really a false number." He thinks he knows that based on conversations to certain people he talks to.
“A lot of people will have this and it's very mild. They'll get better very rapidly. They don't even see a doctor. They don't even call a doctor. You never hear about those people,” Trump said. “Personally, I think the number is way under 1 percent."
The seasonal flu kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected, which is probably why Trump is wanting to compare it to the flu. He also doesn't want anything derailing his re-election in 2020, but facts are a funny thing.
