Trump takes unscheduled trip to the hospital and swears it's not due to his heart disease
President Donald Trump had to undergo "quick exam and labs" on Saturday, taking an unscheduled trip to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center via his presidential motorcade.
Reporters were instructed to remain quiet about it for the entirety of the trip.
The White House is trying to make it seem like there's nothing wrong with the president's health and it's just one part of his annual physical exam, but he usually gets that done in February, not November. They claim he's just trying to get a head start to a busy election season. Yeah, okay.
"Anticipating a very busy 2020, the President is taking advantage of a free weekend here in Washington, D.C., to begin portions of his routine annual physical exam at Walter Reed," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
But, then it would have been on his schedule. It wasn't. His first prior two exams in office were.
For right now, at least, the records surrounding Trump's visit are remaining sealed. The White House says they will discuss when all his exams are completed.
Could this visit be a cover-up by the White House for Trump needing to get some tests done?
We think that's possible. Not only was the trip not on his public schedule but it also wasn't on the White House's internal schedule. That means it definitely was a sudden trip that was probably requested at the last minute.
Here's what we know: Trump increased his daily dose of rosuvastatin earlier in the year, which is a medication used to treat high cholesterol. That exam revealed that Trump has a common form of heart disease and has major plaque build-up in his arteries.
Trump also increased in weight by four pounds over the previous year and was instructed to take better care of his health by then-White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson.
Trump has only made minor changes to his diet and exercise regimen since then so it's doubtful he's seen any improvement. If anything, we're betting his health condition is deteriorating and that's why he had to go to the hospital all of a sudden.
Only time will tell, but for right now all the evidence is indicating that this was a sudden scare and serious tests are underway for the president, not an annual exam.
