Trump is tripping all over himself today trying to explain his 'inject disinfects' comment (VIDEO)
President Donald Trump is spending a good part of his day today trying to clarify what he really meant when he discussed injecting disinfects yesterday at an official White House press conference to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Even Lysol had to issue a statement saying that ingesting these types of products was NOT OKAY.
Trump claims he was merely being 'sarcastic.' He then spent the better half of over a minute tripping all over himself trying to explain. It wasn't pretty and certainly not believable, especially once you review what he said on camera yesterday.
"No, I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen."
When the hard-hitting reporter said "but, you were asking your medical experts to look into it," Trump tried some more to deflect, only worsening his argument.
Here were his actual comments yesterday. They don't appear to be sarcastic at all.
"So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it's ultraviolet or just a very powerful light — and I think you said that hasn't been checked because of the testing," Trump said, speaking to Bryan during the briefing. "And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you're going to test that, too."
He added: "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."
