Trump is so hated by America, he's installing a bigger wall around the White House (Opinion)
The White House has officially begun new construction on new walls surrounding the president, according to ABC News. The current fence will be more than doubled in size to 13-feet-tall. The current size is 6-feet, 6 inches. It will also feature anti-climbing detection technology.
The new fencing will surround the entire 18-acre White House complex and use more than 3,500 feet of steel fencing.
The estimated cost to protect President Trump from climbers: $64 million.
The current fence and security measures by the Secret Service have protected previous presidents at the famous residence but someone thought it'd be a smart idea to give him even more security. He's so hated by America, he needs it.
Trump is known for telling the American people who voted him into office he was going to build a "big, beautiful wall" along our southern border with Mexico, but only small parts of that have been completed.
When comparing this to the new fencing around the White House, this project is expected to not be completed until 2021, the entire length of Trump's first term as president. Why is it going to take that long? If he can't get a fence erected around the White House in record timing, what makes his voters think he will be able to do the job at the border?
The fence's design won approval in 2017 from the Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission and it's anybody's guess as to why it has taken two years after this point to begin the construction.
