Trump is playing golf all weekend. He's charging taxpayers $108 million.
President Donald Trump is golfing over an entire three-day weekend, starting again on Friday the day after Independence Day.
This makes it his 16th visit to his New Jersey golf club since becoming president. With this weekend added up, taxpayers are now on the hook for $108 million. That's the official amount the U.S. government will pay for him to have a luxurious time on the green.
That's insanely way too much money being spent.
While the nation already knew Trump's golfing outings were expensive, surely we couldn't have been prepared to hear this was the latest amount taxpayers would have to pay.
Trump also hit the golf course before his 4th of July parade, while claiming his administration was hard at work on adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
"So important for our Country that the very simple and basic “Are you a Citizen of the United States?” question be allowed to be asked in the 2020 Census. Department of Commerce and the Department of Justice are working very hard on this, even on the 4th of July!"
He's allowed to take a vacation but make other people do the tough lifting?
In total, this was Trump's 201st day at a Trump golf club and 268th day at a Trump property as president. Before the end of Trump's presidency he is on track of spending almost an entire year of his time in office playing golf.
