Trump announces another firing spree to clear out 'snakes' - bringing back Hope Hicks to counsel him
President Donald Trump “wants to clear out all the disloyal people" according to a new report. Administration officials say that Trump feels like he's surrounded by nothing but snakes.
Already, this administration has seen one of the highest staff turnovers in modern history - it's hard to imagine Trump making things any worse. Hasn't he already had years to clear out the bad apples? Looks like that's not the case.
To start it all off, Trump is bringing back John McEntee, his former body man who was fired, actually. He will be leading the Presidential Personnel Office, a pretty powerful role, two sources say. His main task will be picking personnel from across the government to help supplement Trump's desire to fire more people. Trump is wanting a list of names so he can send them straight to the chopping block.
Also being announced: Hope Hicks is coming back. The former White House communications director will have a new title as Jared Kushner's aide. Her official title: “counselor to the president.” This will give her very close proximity to the president again. Ivanka and Kushner are almost interchangeable as spouses, so there really couldn't have been a more personal job given without raising eyebrows.
“There is no one more devoted to implementing President Trump’s agenda than Hope Hicks,” Mr. Kushner said in a statement. “We are excited to have her back on the team.”
