Republican gets mad at Nancy Pelosi on House floor for calling Trump's comments racist (VIDEO)
Republican congressman Doug Collins practically threw a fit when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called out President Trump's divisive comments on the House floor today.
"There is no place anywhere for the president's words, which are not only divisive, but dangerous. They have legitimized and increased fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color. It's so sad because you would think there would be a given in this body to just say 'of course.'"
"These comments from the White House are disgraceful ... these comments are racist. How shameful to hear him continue to defend those offensive words – words that we have all heard him repeat not only about our members, but about countless others."
She then said: "Every single congressperson, Democrat and Republican, should join us in condemning the president's racist tweets."
This didn't sit too well with Rep. Collins who made a spectacle of it, saying: "The gentle speaker of the House, would she like to rephrase that comment?"
Pelosi: I have cleared my remarks with the parliamentarian before I read them.
This met with an applause on the floor before Nancy walked off, leaving Collins to further debate the issue, saying they needed to be taken down.
That was a good speech by Pelosi. In case you missed it, though, journalist Aaron Rupar noticed a guy in the background making some funny faces.
Why is he sticking his tongue out like this?
Meanwhile, what's up with this guy? pic.twitter.com/A8pVBMKTVk— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 16, 2019
Here's video of it, as well.
