Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA): Trump's impeachment is worse than the crucifixion of Jesus (VIDEO)

On a day when many House Republicans complained about the process leading up to the impeachment of Donald Trump, one actually argued Jesus had a fairer process than Trump.

In a House floor speech on Wednesday, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) invoked Christmas and the crucifixion of Jesus.

"Before you take this historic vote today, one week before Christmas, I want you to keep this in mind," he told his colleagues. "When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers. During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus, than Democrats have afforded this president in this process.”

Loudermilk was so proud of this argument that, minutes after his speech, he tweeted out his comments.

But as House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler responded, Trump was "given the opportunity to come and testify before the Judiciary Committee, to send his counsel, [and] to question witnesses. He declined to do so."

Throughout his tenure, Trump has claimed that he has been treated worse than those burned at the stake for being deemed witches and worse than any American president, even the four who were assassinated while in office.
