President Kanye?

Kanye West just announced he's running for president, reported Brooke Siepel of The Hill.

Or at least that's what West just posted to Twitter. West, 43, announced the news along with the hashtag #2020vision.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!" West wrote.

West has been a frequent supporter of Donald Trump. It is unclear why he's chosen now to take Trump on as a challenger.

"And we know who I’m voting on," West said in April. "And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I’m still here!"

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, was quick to throw his full support behind West.

Apparently West and Musk are good friends.
