Nancy Pelosi seen walking with protesters without the need to tear gas them (VIDEO)
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the presidency in America's chain of succession should something ever happen to President Trump or Vice President Pence, decided to walk among protesters in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
She was seen interacting with people and talking to them, something Trump did not do when he decided to take a photo-op across the street from the White House.
It was widely reported that in order for Trump to take his little stroll, tear gas was used to clear out peaceful protesters in the area. The Washington Post is defending the use of the word "tear gas" even though Trump and the U.S. Park Police say it was only “pepper balls” and “smoke canisters.”
It didn't appear that Pelosi needed to clear people out of her way with "tear gas" while they exercised their constitutional right to peacefully protest.
This is what real leadership looks like.
Pelosi is calling on Trump to be the "healer in chief" instead of a "fanner of the flame." The only way she could probably convey that message was to show by example - that's why she's among the protesters right now.
Pelosi was saddened by the news of George Floyd, calling it "an execution on t.v."
While Trump took a photo-op with a bible a few days earlier, Pelosi actually opened it up and started reading from it.
"When I saw the president holding up the Bible, I was thinking of so many things in the Bible that would have been appropriate in terms of the humanity of all people in our country,” she said.
