Lawmaker Takes CNN's Wolf Blitzer By Storm, Talks About Indictments For Trump Family
Congressman Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) says that he thinks both Donald Trump Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner will both be indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
He made the startling revelation while speaking with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
“I think they’re getting closer to knowing that the truth is going to come out that there was activities with the Trump campaign and Russia in releasing those hacks and guiding them to the states and the localities where they came from,” Cohen said.
“Some of that was Jared Kushner’s responsibilities, some of it was Donald [Trump] Jr. I think you’re probably going to see indictments of both of those people.”
Blitzer: Actual indictments from Mueller? Specifically against who?
Cohen: Against Donald Trump Jr. and against Jaredy Kushner.
Blitzer: You think both of them are going to get indicted?
Cohen: I think that's entirely possible and the president is going to go totally off his rocker, not like he's on it now, and issue pardons.
Keep in mind: It's not a bad prediction. Trump Jr. and Kushner both told Congress that Trump knew nothing about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians, and according to a leak by former Trump Organization attorney Michael Cohen, that's simply not true. Not only did Trump know about it, but his family was planning for the meeting several days in advance.
Cohen said he had no evidence that Mueller was in fact going to actually issue the indictments, and re-iterated the fact that his allegations were serious. Still - he said - he stood behind the statement completely.
