Kavanaugh Just Refused To Shake The Hand Of A Father, Whose Daughter Was Murdered At Parkland
In a very contentious morning, in what may well go down as one of the craziest Supreme Court Justice senate confirmation hearings ever - where protesters and Democrats refused to allow the proceedings to go on without interjection - is now getting even more attention.
Right after one of the first recesses, Fred Guttenberg, the father of Jaime Guttenberg, who was killed in February at the Parkland, Florida mass school shooting, tried to shake the hand of Kavanaugh but Trump's nominee simply turned his back on him and walked away.
Video footage of the incident was captured, in part.
Fred Guttenberg tweeted about the incident before video footage was released. It is becoming one of the most viral tweets of the day, probably the week.
Just walked up to Judge Kavanaugh as morning session ended. Put out my hand to introduce myself as Jaime Guttenberg's dad. He pulled his hand back, turned his back to me and walked away. I guess he did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence.— Fred Guttenberg (@fred_guttenberg) September 4, 2018

While Kavanaugh's hearings are still ongoing, and there will be many more days of them, this moment will undoubtedly cast a dark shadow over the rest of the hearings and define Kavanaugh's nomination should he be confirmed.
