Greta Thunberg responds to President Trump after he decides to mock her again
On Wednesday, 16-year-old Greta Thunberg was named Time magazine's Person of the Year, chosen over President Donald Trump.
That apparently upset the president.
"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!" Trump wrote in the early hours of the morning.
He also went after her in September, mocking her outrage on climate change by saying:
"She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"
Greta responded to Trump's latest mocking by updating her Twitter bio to reflect Trump's comments. She's going to use this as more motivation for the future.
Yesterday, we ran a story for Trump Jr. also taking a cheap shot at Greta. He claimed she was being "used."
"Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick. How dare you?" the eldest Trump son declared.
It was just a handful of days ago that First Lady Melania Trump was saying: ""A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics." She was referring to her son, Barron, when his name was brought up during impeachment proceedings.
Why are the Trump's so concerned that she's going to end up on a magazine cover? It's mostly symbolic anyway.
Trump was passed over last year and the year before that. So far, former President Obama has won the award twice in his eight-year presidency, so perhaps Trump is trying to catch up. He's even put fake Time covers of himself in his golf clubs. But, those don't count.
Greta's latest speech was in front of the United Nation's climate change conference in Madrid on Wednesday, the same day she won the Time honor.
"So, please tell me (leaders), how do you see these numbers without feeling some level of panic. How do you respond to the fact that basically nothing is being done about this without feeling the slightest bit of anger?"
