GOP Staffer Takes Pic Of Ocasio-Cortez's Backside To Ridicule Her - But She Strikes Back

The recent buzz surrounding Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is that she is homeless and not able to afford an apartment before swearing-in for her official duties coming up in January when Democrats take over the House of Representatives and start going to work.

The young upcoming Congresswoman has become a punchline for Republicans and Conservatives on the right and a symbol for everything they hate about Democrats.

They are trying to portray her as a communist, unsuccessful, and unworthy, among other things.

Now - to add insult to injury - they are making fun of the clothes she is wearing, in an attempt to make it seem like her story of not being able to afford an apartment was just all a lie, somehow.

Eddie Scarry of the Washington Examiner posted the following on Twitter, saying a Hill staffer sent it to him. It was a picture of Ocasio-Cortez's backside showing her wearing respectable wearing clothes.

UPDATE: It looks like Eddie Scarry deleted the tweet, but we screenshoted it for purposes of this article.

What was she supposed to wear on Capitol Hill?

Ocasio-Cortez's response was on point. Her message was simple: haters are going to hate no matter what you do. We paraphrased a bit, but that's basically what she said. Here, take a look:

Let's focus in on the hypocrisy of it all for a moment.

When Ocasio-Cortez said she wasn't able to afford an apartment, that was a problem for the GOP. The popular conservative website The Dailywire ran an article entitled:  Ocasio-Cortez Can't Afford An Apartment In D.C. Before Her Government Paycheck Kicks In. Talk about a hit piece.

There was no real substance in the article other than to point out that she doesn't have a plan to pay for her government programs. What they don't mention? Republicans don't have a plan to pay for their programs, either. Look at the national debt under Republican presidents and GOP-led Congresses. It's common knowledge. So, explain then: How is Ocasio-Cortez somehow this huge socialist?

Honestly, we think the right just hates how popular she is becoming. She is energizing the youth vote and is likely to make it harder for Republicans to win office in the future with so many young voters going to the polls for Democrats. With elections being as close as they are around the country, the last thing the GOP needs is more Democrats.

Ocasio-Cortez hasn't even taken office yet and she's among one of the most popular progressive voices.

While we do admit she has alot to gain in experience, the voters wanted her there, and she represents fresh new ideas. She will only grow stronger over time and become more seasoned.

In the meantime, we expect more low-blows like this one. But, maybe Republicans just like snapping pics of her? We wouldn't doubt it.
