GOP senators rip Trump: Because of your decision, American allies 'will be slaughtered' now
Since President Donald Trump's decision today to withdraw all U.S. troops and personnel from Syria, several prominent Republicans Senators have come out the wood works to decry the decision.
It's said that the Pentagon pleaded with Trump not to do so, but he didn't listen.
Senator Lindsey Graham, and Senator Marco Rubio were the first to denounce Trump on it. They said there was no evidence ISIS has been defeated in the area, which Trump claims is the case.
Now Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Armed Services Committee is chiming in, saying people will be slaughtered because of it.
"Eight days ago the Administration called a hypothetical pullout 'reckless.' Today, we're leaving. The President's generals had no idea where this weak decision came from: They believe the high-fiving winners today are Iran, ISIS, and Hezbollah. The losers are Israel, humanitarian victims, and U.S. intelligence gathering. A lot of American allies will be slaughtered if this retreat is implemented."
It's not just a few members of the GOP either that are angry with Trump right now. According to multiple reports, Vice President Pence was at a lunch with prominent members in the Senate and said he was getting an "earful" right now about not telling them this was going to happen. Instead, they had to read about it in the paper, which they didn't appreciate being blindsided on.
If this White House had any partners left in the Republican Party, it sure looks like it is losing some of them right now.
