GOP Senator: I'm Tired Of 'Dumbass' Partisanship, Mad Democrats Opposing Trump's SCOTUS Pick
Check this out: Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) is mad at the Democrats for opposing President Trump's pick to be the next Supreme Court justice, Brett Kavanaugh.
He lashed out during a press conference on Thursday, saying that he was sick of all the "dumbass" partisanship going around. His exacts words were: Democrats were going down a "partisan, picky, stupid, dumbass road."
"I'm tired of partisanship and frankly, we didn't treat their candidates for these positions the way they're treating ours," he said.
We don't blame him for the partisanship comment, but notice how he said that the Republicans didn't do this to the Democrats. Well, on that part, he's wrong.
Remember what happened to former President Obama's selection, judge Merrick Garland? Senator Hatch might want people to forget about that. Senate Republicans wouldn't even hold a hearing for almost the entire length of Obama's last year in office, effectively blocking the pick. Hatch was one of the influential members who insisted they wait until the election which paved the way for Trump to nominate Neil Gorsuch.
Now - Hatch and his fellow Republicans want the American people to believe that the Democrats are the true obstructionists. They held a press conference berating their Democratic colleagues for trying to seek tens of thousands of documents related to Kavanuagh from his time as a former staff secretary to then-President George W. Bush. The GOP says they shouldn't have to hand them over.
