BREAKING: Audio Recording Of Trump Discussing Playboy Model Hush Money

Remember all those documents/cell phones stacked into evidence after the F.B.I. raided Michael Cohen's law offices?

The F.B.I., the department that Trump has been attacking relentlessly for the past year, now has a secretly recorded conversation by Mr. Cohen with President Trump that took place just two months before the election according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording told the New York Times.

It turns out, Cohen recorded a lot of his calls, presumably without the other party even knowing that he was.

On the phone call, the two discussed payments to a former Playboy model that Trump wanted to keep quiet. Federal prosecutors are trying to ascertain whether or not Trump and his campaign violated federal campaign finance laws when making the payments.

Per the Times:

"The recording’s existence further draws Mr. Trump into questions about tactics he and his associates used to keep aspects of his personal and business life a secret. And it highlights the potential legal and political danger that Mr. Cohen represents to Mr. Trump. Once the keeper of many of Mr. Trump’s secrets, Mr. Cohen is now seen as increasingly willing to consider cooperating with prosecutors."

While we don't have a copy of the recording, we can only comment on what we already know, as this is a pending legal matter.

The context of the call likely took place in context of the Stormy Daniels saga which was also occurring at the time. As we know now, Cohen and Trump paid her $130,000 to keep quiet.

McDougal: Trump tried to pay me after intimacy.

McDougal ended up selling her story to the National Enquirer just before the election for $150,000, a tabloid run by Trump's friend David J. Pecker for its exclusive rights, meaning she couldn't tell it anywhere else. Once they paid her they refused to run it in print, effectively squashing the story.

Related: Around the same time this was revealed, Michael Cohen is discussing a potential tell-all to the media through his long-time friend Reverend Al Sharpton.

Why is Cohen all of a sudden willing to talk more, and why is Sharpton hyping it up?

This is still a breaking news story.
