The American flag was just removed from a U.S. airbase. Russia's is now flying over it (VIDEO)
President Donald Trump is really making Russian President Vladimir Putin happy right now.
In northern Syria, Russian troops just took command of a U.S. airbase that was once America's leading logistical hub against ISIS, and they did it without firing any shots.
In place of the American flag, they instead put up a Russian one. CBS News ran a segment on it. No, we're not fighting a war, but this is pure symbolism at its finest.
Donald Trump is responsible for this. And, what the heck is going on?
All of this is due to Trump's new policy in the region. Trump announced he was withdrawing U.S. troops from Syria but later stated he would allow some to stay "only for the oil."
This statement actually contradicted his own officials who claimed that the remaining forces were there only to fight ISIS.
Rep. Ted Lieu saw the photograph of the Russian flag flying above the former U.S. base and offered this response:
"I served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. This picture of a Russian flag flying over an American airbase is an embarrassment to the United States of America. It's a stark example of what happens when DonaldTrump repeatedly kneels before Vladimir Putin."
Trump likes to tell people at rallies that nobody has ever been tougher on Russia, but he's been soft on Russia at least 25 separate times already during his three-year presidency thus far.
There is little doubt that the country wouldn't do anything in its power to re-elect the man.
With the United States out the picture, Russia can now rule unfettered without any interruption in the region. They've even been given a blank check to do so.
Yes, Trump single-handedly reversed decades of American foreign policy and abandoned a key U.S. ally in the process. And, now the world is looking up to a Russian flag there, not one from the United States.
